The Morris College Esports Arena seamlessly merges varsity and club gaming, creating a versatile space that enhances student engagement and serves as a hub for community events, enriching the campus experience.
Morris College sought to establish an esports facility tailored to support both intense varsity competitions on an elevated platform and more relaxed, casual club gaming on a lower level. The design aimed to provide seamless transitions between competitive and recreational uses, featuring advanced technology integrations and flexible space configurations to accommodate a wide range of student activities and events. The project's goal was to create a dynamic, multifunctional space that not only met diverse gaming needs but also enhanced community engagement and spectator experiences.
The spectator area at Morris College’s esports arena boosts community spirit and support, much like traditional sports events. The adaptable space, designed for both gaming and spectating, enhances program pride and versatility, serving various college activities beyond esports.
The facilitator and coaches area features a versatile, mobile desk that easily moves between platforms and supports both coaching duties and broadcasting needs, enhancing the arena's dynamic capabilities.
The Club Gaming area is mobile, and seamless in design to manage wiring. The space is easily rearranged to bring in spectator seating form the perimeter of the room when necessary for Varsity Gaming events.
Some spaces allow for Varsity gamers and Club within the same space. In this particular set up, the Arena Platform houses a 5 v 5 setup in the center of the room, complete with wire management, and tv's for spectator viewing of their favorite varsity player.
